Fourth draft of my contents page

From looking at my draft three I have made several improvements. I have changed the wording of the editors letter, slightly so that it reads better. I have also placed the word issue 24 at the top of the page. Here I am going to add the date the magazine is released and the day it goes off sale to the public. I have already included this on the front page of my magazine, but I may make some amendments so this doesn't appear twice. I have also moved the news&features column to the bottom left hand side of the page. This is because I have made room for a picture in the existing place. The image is who my double page spread is going to be based on. I have placed a border around the picture to make it stand out more. I am not going to use anymore images as I believe by using only one it stands out. I have also decided to change my headlines from what I had previously chosen because they wasn't really related to music, whereas the ones I have now chosen are more realistic to a music magazine. To improve on this copy I am going to add more columns, showing what else is going to be included in the magazine. I am also going to change the colour of the page number that appears on the image, as it is unclear to read.

Third draft of my contents page

I have now added the Bauer media logo. This then establishes the institution of the magazine. I have also began writing a column which will contain news and features in this issue. I have enlarged the page numbers so they stand out and the audience can easily turn to that page to read that particular story. I am going to carry this on and contain more headlines. I have also placed the page number on the cover at the bottom of the page to indicate that this article is on this page.

Second draft of contents page

Here, all I have added is a letter from the editor summarising what is within the magazine. I have highlighted in a bright colour artist that will be starring in the issue. By doing this the reader can simply look at the magazine and see if there is anything that interests them in buying a copy. I am now going to add the institutions logo, as well as a column for news and features and a page number accompined by the magazines website.

First draft of contents page

Here is the first draft of my contents page. I have used the website dafont.com, to select a style that is suitable for my contents page. I have decided to write Welcome instead of contents, as it is plain and traditional and I don't want to put this across through my magazine. I have also used the radar! in the same text as the front cover and this can be then used as a logo throughout my magazine, by using this logo it will be recognized instantly to my audience. Aswell as this I have placed a copy of the front cover onto the contents page, by doing this I can add a page number on top of it and this will show that on this page will be the story relating to the front cover.

Improved version of front cover

I have decided to keep the masthead underneath the picture. I have done this because the audience will already know the name of the magazine as the issue number is no.24. I have also lowered the website the date and the issue number further down the page and changed the size of these pieces of anchorage.

Improved version of front cover

Here I have improved my front cover of the magazine. I have stretched the masthead and made the writing go beneath the band members head. However, the title cannot be read clearly and the masthead doesn't read Radar! what it should do, so I am going to make some improvements to do this. To the main headline I have changed the font to make it fit in with the pop style of my magazine. I have enlarged the bands name more then the other text, as when looking at existing magazines this is the technique they use.

Improvements on the front cover of my magazine

After reviewing my work I decided that I needed to make some improvements on my front cover, this will be beneficial as it will make the magazine look more appealing to the target audience I am aiming at. I have decided to change the text style for the main headline as it looks traditional and standard and not something that would be appealing to my audience. I have also decided to enlarge my masthead as it is only small and by enlarging it, it will stand out more to my target audience.
